Senior Network Engineer (Hybrid – NYC) – 3-Month Contract (possible extension)

Our direct client, located in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking a Senior Network Engineer for a hybrid (3 days onsite) 3-month contract role in New York City.

*Must be local to NYC. No relocation.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with Cisco routers and switches, LAN/WAN infrastructure, and Cisco Call Manager with SIP integration. This role involves both on-site and remote work, supporting the company's network operations and ensuring high availability and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Cisco routers and switches, focusing on Layer 2/3 networking.
• Manage and optimize LAN/WAN infrastructure, ensuring network stability and performance.
• Administer and support Cisco Call Manager, SIP integration, and Cisco IPT.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot VLAN configurations for efficient network segmentation.
• Perform routing configurations and optimizations on Cisco platforms.
• Monitor and analyze network performance using SolarWinds and other network monitoring tools.
• Conduct network diagnostics and resolve connectivity and performance issues.
• Work closely with IT teams to implement network security best practices and infrastructure upgrades.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in network engineering with a strong focus on Cisco technologies.
• Expertise in Cisco Layer 2/3 networking, routing and switching, and VLAN configuration.
• Strong experience with Cisco Call Manager, SIP trunking, and Cisco IPT.
• In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN design, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Familiarity with SolarWinds or other network monitoring tools.
• CCNA or CCNP certification preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment (on-site in NYC as required).
