POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists the Directors and Managers of Sourcing & Contracting in the day-to-day coordination, administration, oversight of procurement, sourcing, and contracting activities for University Healths Procurement Department. Directs workflow and priorities for Contract Specialists, serves as the first escalation point for complex solicitations and negotiations, and ensures contracting compliance with University Health policy, applicable state/county procurement law, and Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) agreements. Partners with clinical Value Analysis, Finance, Legal, IT Security, and departments across the system to execute sourcing strategies, optimize total cost of ownership, and deliver timely, compliant contracts and purchasing outcomes that support safe, high-quality patient care.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in a related field is required OR eight years of direct contracting experience. Minimum three (3) years leading sourcing/contracting work in a healthcare or public-sector environment (e.g., category lead, team lead, senior contracting specialist) with specification writing and complex contracting, negotiation, solicitation experience. Additionally, Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP) is preferred. Knowledge of various procurement processes is required. Computer literacy is essential. Proficiency with ERP/MMIS (e.g., Premier/Workday/PeopleSoft), eSourcing, CLM tools, and intermediate-to-advanced Excel/Word.
