Biometrics (Fingerprinting) Technician – On Call Join to apply for the Biometrics (Fingerprinting) Technician – On Call role at Amentum . This is an opportunity to work with the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) in meeting the mission of administering the nation’s lawful immigration system. Hourly pay: $19.59 (hourly rate set by the Service Contract Act). Eligible for Amentum benefits such as Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and 401(k) retirement plan. Employees accrue one (1) hour of sick leave for every thirty (30) hours worked up to fifty‑six (56) hours per year. On‑call employees may be eligible for pro‑rated holiday and paid time off benefits. Job Description The position is an on‑call (casual) team member based in Colchester, VT, working with USCIS Application Support Center operations. All required training is provided. As an on‑call employee you must be available Monday‑Friday from 7:45 am to 4:15 pm for subscription coverage. Primary Responsibilities Complete biometrics registration for applicants seeking legal immigration to the United States. Ensure all applicants and visitors are approved and assist staff in enforcing ASC rules and policies. Provide front‑line customer service as representatives of Amentum and the United States Government. Screen applicants entering the facility to confirm valid appointment notice and identification. Utilize crowd control barriers to maintain a safe and organized entry. Inspect applicants’ belongings prior to entry and assess health status during public health emergencies. Conduct periodic facility checks (interior and exterior) and report concerns to the Site Supervisor. Assist Site Supervisor or Immigration Service Officer in contacting local law enforcement or first responders when necessary. Complete administrative paperwork accurately, including tracking processing times, reconciling biometrics captured, maintaining visitor logs, and signing off on facility checks. Qualifications Must obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization; US citizenship required. High School Diploma or equivalent. Proficient speaking and writing in English. Ability to stand upright for the scheduled shift duration, excluding meals and breaks. Ability to hold and grasp applicant’s hands to obtain quality fingerprints. Ability to work in a high‑pace environment with the public. Basic computer skills. Successful completion of biometrics training and certification within sixty days. Desired Skills Ability to speak a foreign language. Understanding of Health & Welfare (H&W) dollar calculations and eligibility.
