Welder and Fitter

Paying $34 - $36

Location - Portland, OR 97203

We are seeking a skilled welder and fitter to join our team in fabricating and fitting structural steel components. The role involves reading blueprints and operating a variety of fabrication equipment, including torches, saws, and grinders. Successful candidates will also utilize overhead cranes and material handling equipment to perform their duties.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and fit structural steel components according to specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints accurately.
• Operate fabrication equipment such as torches, saws, and grinders effectively.
• Utilize overhead cranes and material handling equipment safely and efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Experience with flux core welding and MIG welding techniques.
• Strong fitting skills with attention to detail.
• Weld full-penetration T-Frames using .045 FCAW on ½" plate in vertical and horizontal positions. Responsibilities include fitting, squaring, and interpreting blueprints to ensure proper alignment and weld quality.

Environment/ Shift:

• Work in a heavy industrial environment with large parts being machined. Our spacious machine shop houses various machines, currently staffed by five people, but we expect to double our machine shop headcount soon. Despite the empty appearance, we have a large backlog of work. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, and ear plugs.
• Day shift, Monday - Thursday 5am - 3:30pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
