Description Tahoe Donner Association is looking for a fun and personable
Snowsports School Assistant Manager to join our Downhill Ski Resort Operations! The Snowsports School Assistant Manager guides programs to ensure a quality guest experience. This position, in conjunction with the Snowsports School Manager, delivers revenue contributions and provides fulfilling experience for both guests and staff. This position is responsible for the full range of programs offered throughout the ski season. The Snow Sports Assistant Manager will work with the Snowsports School Manager to adequately staff for both daily operations and program needs. This position will be responsible for daily operations in the absence of the Snowsports School Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, business partners and employees.
- Uphold Tahoe Donner Association's zero tolerance standard for sexual abuse and molestation by following protocols to protect students from inappropriate behavior by staff, members, guests, public and other students.
- Direct and monitor quality of group lessons focusing on products for children group lessons. Work with management team to provide tools, training, and tactics to ensure the quality of products and services for our guests.
- Teach adult and children ski or snowboard classes according to experience and level.
- Work with Snowsports School Manager to adequately staff for the various programs. Implement and hold staff accountable to both Snowsports School and Association policies and procedures. Adhere to and model the Association's mission, vision and values.
- Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program. Implement and evaluate effectiveness of established safety procedures and policies designed to reduce work related accidents and general liability exposure for the Snowsports School.
- Assist ski and snowboard school students with proper ski/snowboard equipment use and proper ski or snowboard techniques.
- Assist with snow removal including shoveling and clearing snow from walkways, stairs, equipment and other areas as needed.
- Resolve any guest complaints or issues when necessary.
- Disperse lessons in the Snowflakes and Ski and Snowboard School meeting areas.
- Participate in the development and administration of the operations budgets; direct the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures.
- Interview and hire staff in the HRIS system, submitting required paperwork to HR in a timely manner. Orient, train, direct, motivate, evaluate and discipline all assigned staff and oversee work schedules in accordance with Tahoe Donner Association policies.

We are looking for the following qualifications: - Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications recommended.
- Current Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) membership and Level II certification or higher recommended.
- Children Specialist 2 certification or equivalent preferred.
- Must demonstrate proficient skills in skiing and/or snowboarding ability.
- Minimum of two years working full time for a Ski Resort
- Fluent communicating in both written and verbal English.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, weekdays and holidays.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and "people skills"; must love engaging and interacting with children and adults of all ages.
- Knowledge of RTP systems is a plus.
- Cursory knowledge of Microsoft Office, basic accounting capabilities, organization and documentation
These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school and three years' related experience and training in the ski business, and PSIA or ISIA certified ski instruction preferred; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.
