Job Description

A full-semester counseling position is available for a dedicated professional in Liberty, NY, serving K-12 students. This role involves working with both general education and special education caseloads, providing comprehensive support in academic guidance, career and college planning, and social-emotional learning (SEL) initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance counseling to K-12 students across general education and special education groups, including ASD, ED, BD, ID, and LD classifications
  • Facilitate SEL curriculum delivery through individual and group counseling sessions
  • Assist students with career and college planning to prepare them for post-secondary success
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to create supportive learning environments
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Counseling experience in both general education and special education settings
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver SEL curriculum and conduct individual and group counseling
  • Familiarity with working with diverse student needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Emotional Disability (ED), Behavioral Disability (BD), Intellectual Disability (ID), and Learning Disability (LD)
  • Experience with virtual counseling services preferred
  • Availability for onsite work, as in-person presence is strongly preferred for this role
  • Valid counseling credentials and licensure applicable to the New York education system
