We are seeking Punjabi Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. This role provides real-time telephonic interpretation between Punjabi and English during immigration interviews, hearings, and official proceedings.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and impartial Punjabi English interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.
• Interpret in immigration, legal, and administrative settings with professionalism.
• Adhere to USCIS/DHS confidentiality and compliance standards.
• Handle both scheduled and urgent OPI requests.
• Participate in required training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native proficiency in Punjabi and English.
• 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, medical, or government preferred).
• Familiarity with interpreter ethics and standards (NCIHC, ATA, or RID).
• Excellent telephone communication skills; ability to remain neutral and accurate.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance.
