About Westchester Community College:
Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Job Description:
The P/T Senior Tutor will provide academic assistance to students. Academic interventions can include individual tutoring, group tutoring, homework assistance and exam reviews. Subjects include, but are not limited to, reading, study skills, ESL, writing, science, computer science, psychology, physics, economics, and mathematics. Other related work as required includes supporting front desk activities, answering phones, making copies and disseminating information.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A BA/BS degree is required. The successful candidate must have expert knowledge in the subject area and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 1 year of tutoring experience, preferably in an educational setting with under-prepared students, is strongly preferred.

WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule varies; daytime, evening and Saturday hours might be available.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $17.00 per hour. No benefits.
