Process Engineer

Location: Charleston, SC

Salary: $105,000 - $110,000 per year

Note: Candidates must be U.S. citizens or hold a valid Green Card to be considered for this position.

About the Role

Our client, a North American leader in their manufacturing niche, is seeking a Process Engineer to join their largest facility in Charleston, SC. This role is ideal for a team-oriented professional with a proven track record of success who is committed to improving safety, quality, and productivity while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Process Engineer will play a key role in developing teams, enhancing processes, and delivering measurable value to the marketplace.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
  • Drive and manage safety initiatives throughout the plant

  • Ensure corporate engineering standards are achieved and maintained

  • Act as a process expert and catalyst for continuous improvement

  • Propose, sponsor, and lead projects to improve product performance, reduce costs, improve yields, or reduce cycle time using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies

  • Develop teams to:

    1. Achieve results

    2. Exhibit teamwork

    3. Demonstrate self-sufficiency

    4. Communicate effectively

  • Ensure team members have all necessary resources and information for self-sufficiency

  • Utilize statistical analysis to address process concerns and performance gaps

  • Ensure Control Plans are effectively implemented to maintain process stability

  • Monitor process performance to meet objectives in safety, first-pass quality, and productivity

  • Provide leadership and support in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) activities, including data collection, maintenance planning, and process improvement

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial Engineering preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills

  • Strong organizational skills, including multitasking and time management

  • Ability to interface with internal teams, customers, and suppliers, acting as a coach and trainer

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to drive safety, quality, and productivity improvements

  • Ability to create or revise process documentation such as Control Plans, FMEAs, JSAs, and Standard Work instructions

  • Proficient in MS Office products

  • Experience with Minitab is beneficial but not required

  • Familiarity with TPM principles

  • Maintenance experience a plus
