Postdoc position in neuroscience research at Yongsoo Kim lab at Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, PA. The lab focuses on establishing cellular cell type architecture maps of mammalian brains using mice as an animal model. Research lines include brain-wide mapping of brain cell types (GABAergic neurons, glia, cerebrovascular network), anatomical and functional investigation of the oxytocin system related to social behavior and neurodevelopment, and creating 3D atlases for developing mouse brains. Techniques used include high-resolution 3D imaging (light sheet fluorescent microscopy), computational approaches, and systems neuroscience methods (miniscope neural recording, connectivity tracing). Candidates with PhD and expertise in vascular biology are preferred, especially in cerebrovasculature anatomical and functional investigation. Skills in computer programming (Matlab, Python), neuroinformatics, and advanced microscopy are a plus but not required. The position is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire. Employment requires successful background check.
