Pet Groomer – Job Description

Position Summary:
We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Pet Groomer to join our team and provide top-tier grooming services to our furry clientele. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and passionate about animal care. You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality grooming while ensuring pets are treated with kindness and respect throughout their visit.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Grooming Services

  • Perform bathing, brushing, blow-drying, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and haircuts to breed standards or client preferences
  • Safely and effectively handle pets of all sizes and temperaments
  • Identify and report any health concerns such as skin conditions, parasites, or injuries

• Client Interaction

  • Consult with pet owners to understand grooming needs and preferences
  • Provide recommendations for grooming schedules and coat maintenance
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through professional service and communication

• Salon Maintenance

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of grooming stations and tools
  • Follow safety protocols for handling pets and grooming equipment
  • Assist with inventory management of grooming supplies

• Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with receptionists and other groomers to ensure smooth operations
  • Support a positive and respectful work environment
  • Help train junior staff or assistants when needed

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional grooming experience (salon, veterinary clinic, or mobile grooming)
• Formal grooming certification or training preferred
• Strong knowledge of breed-specific grooming techniques and coat types
• Ability to safely handle pets with varying temperaments and needs
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift pets when necessary
