We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team in Orlando, Florida. In this full-time role, you will support physician(s) and nurses in providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced clinic environment. The ideal candidate is a do-er, is detail-oriented, has strong interpersonal skills, and is passionate about contributing to patient well-being.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients, escort them to exam rooms, and prepare them for appointments by taking basic reason for the visit, and vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and weight).
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and minor procedures, including filling out forms, setting up equipment, collecting specimens, and administering injections or medications as directed.
  • Perform Diabetic Foot exam when needed, and basic laboratory tests, such as A1C, EKGs, phlebotomy, and urinalysis.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, including updating medical histories and documenting visit details.
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling appointments, managing patient check-ins/check-outs, processing insurance authorization, filling out necessary forms, and coordinating referrals.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and compliant with infection control protocols (e.g., sterilizing instruments and disposing of biohazardous waste).
  • Provide patient education on treatments, medications, and follow-up care instructions.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize workflow and enhance patient satisfaction.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required, or equivalent clinical background. IMG are welcome.
  • Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the AAMA or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from AMT is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, and basic clinical procedures.
  • Experience with EHR software (e.g., eCW, Athenahealth, Epic, Cerner, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with diverse patients and team members.
  • Basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred. OSHA and HIPPA certification.
  • Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and assist patients as needed.
  • Preferred: Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or English/Creole a plus) to serve our diverse community.

Experience Requirements

  • Entry-level candidates welcome on a part-time basis; on-the-job training provided for the do-er personality type candidate.
  • For candidates with 3 or more years of relevant experience in a clinical setting, we offer enhanced opportunities for leadership roles.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary Range: $38,000 - $50,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • For applicants with 3 or more years of experience, we offer salaries above the average, starting at $45,000 and up, depending on expertise and certifications.
  • Full-time benefits include 50% health insurance reimbursement, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, continuing education reimbursement, and employee wellness programs.
