Position Summary

The Risk Adjustment Coder provides coding education and training to physicians, mid-level providers, and support staff to ensure accurate capture of Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCCs). This role includes prospective and retrospective chart reviews, provider assessments, and delivering one-on-one and group education sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Abstract diagnosis codes from clinical notes per policy for provider education.
• Prepare targeted education for providers and staff with practice-specific information.
• Act as a coding resource and respond promptly to inquiries.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with physicians, clinical teams, and administrative staff.
• Coordinate EMR access for practices and participate in POD meetings.
• Complete daily logs and process forms as directed by supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma/GED
• Certifications: CPC (Certified Professional Coder) – Required
• CRC (Certified Risk Adjustment Coder) – Preferred
• Experience: 2–5 years of Risk Adjustment coding experience
• Must own ICD-10 coding books
• Skills: Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
