Job Description
Marketing & Graphic Design Internship This position is a full-time paid Internship that begins March 1st and goes through mid-September. The Marketing & Graphic Design Intern assists the Marketing & Content Manager and Graphic Designer in daily and season-long tasks and may be called to assist other Kernels Front Office Staff members as needed throughout their internship. This is an in-person position.
Game Day/Non-Game Day: - Assist in creating, scheduling, and executing new and fresh social media campaigns
- Assist the Marketing & Content Manager with daily tasks in conjunction with our social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
- Assist in creating an archive of team interviews, activities, and photos
- Assist the Graphic Designer with graphic design projects
- Collaborate on various guerilla marketing tactics to increase walk-up sales
- Support the Marketing & Content Manager in planning, writing, proofing, and sending the Kernels Email Newsletter
- Assist in scheduling and posting information on the Kernels social media platforms
- Coordinate social media contests on various platforms
- Assist with team activities and appearances throughout the community
- Facilitate team photography and videography
- Coordinate in-stadium posters to promote upcoming events & games
During Games- you may be called to do any and all of these during the season. - Take pictures and videos during games and events held at the stadium
- Help with on-field promotions
- Help other departments if needed
- Help with game-day operations
- Other duties deemed necessary
Hours/Schedule - 9am-5pm M-F during non-game days
- 9 am through the end of the game during game days
- Expected to work weekends and special events on the Kernels calendar
- This position will work in Cedar Rapids and is not a remote position
Preferred start date - March 1st through mid-September
- The schedule during the school year can be determined based on class schedule and proximity to Cedar Rapids on a case-by-case basis
Requirements - Able to be on feet for 12+ hours a day
- Able to lift 25lbs or more
- Fluent in Microsoft Office programs, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, etc.), Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro), and Publisher.
