The Role

We are seeking a Licensed Land Surveyor to join our team.

About Pacific Sands

Pacific Sands is a design and engineering firm based in Southern California, specializing in designing building plans and construction documents for Residential and Commercial construction projects. Our projects range from custom homes to multi-unit residential developments and commercial spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys.
  • Prepare, review, and certify survey maps, plats, legal descriptions, and reports in compliance with California laws and professional standards.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to provide site data that informs design and construction decisions.
  • Supervise and direct field crews, ensuring accurate data collection and adherence to project timelines.
  • Manage survey records, maintain equipment, and ensure quality control on all survey deliverables.
  • Provide expert advice on property boundaries, easements, encroachments, and site development challenges.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed.

Qualifications

  • California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license required.
  • 2+ years of professional surveying experience.
  • Proficiency with modern survey instruments (GPS, robotic total stations, data collectors) and software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS tools, or similar).
  • Understanding of California surveying regulations and local permitting processes.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
