Italian OPI Interpreter – USCIS Contract Responsibilities Provide real-time Italian English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders. Interpret accurately, impartially, and professionally in immigration, legal, and administrative contexts. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter standards. Manage both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests. Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance reviews. Qualifications Native or near-native fluency in Italian and English. 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, healthcare, community, or government preferred). Knowledge of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity. Strong telephone communication skills and ability to remain accurate under pressure. Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 clearance. Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay: $25–30/hour. Remote work with secure USCIS-approved platforms.
