ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Performs work identified in the inspector classifications, completes required documentation associated with articles inspected.
2. Must be familiar with blueprints, applicable specifications.
3. Must be able, with guidance, to perform inspection operations of completed articles in fabrication and assembly areas.
4. Must be able to use standard inspection tools, detailed layout templates, patterns, and tooling related to the job
5. Must be able to use the MAPICS system, Quality Management System, and access drawings, specifications, and other data required to support the inspection process.
6. Must be able to perform other duties as required

Employee is expected to follow all safety regulations, keep work area in a clean and orderly condition, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the assigned work area(s). Performs safety related duties as assigned.

DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

 Employee is responsible for determining if she/he has adequate information and materials to complete tasks as directed.
 Selection of methods and sequences to complete tasks within limits of the specific jobs assigned.
 Determines if in-coming and out-going parts are made to specifications.

Decisions/Problems referred to supervisor
 Problems with equipment or machinery.
 Unfamiliar or insufficient defined tasks.
 Conflicting priorities.
 Incorrect documentation.
 Training issues.

QUALIFICATIONS
 High School diploma or equivalent required.
 6-12 months of related experience required – equivalent education and background may be substituted for experience in some areas.
 Requires a thorough understanding of shop practices and procedures.
 Must be able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, work orders, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
 Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
 Employee must be able to obtain and maintain all required certifications and licenses.
 Customer Focus: Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; Understands that his or her job is not a series of tasks and duties, but rather an integral part of creating value for customers
