Job Summary:

We are seeking a technically proficient and results-driven Project Manager with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector to lead and execute complex capital projects from planning through commissioning. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, deep industry knowledge, and the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams across upstream, midstream, or downstream operations in a highly regulated and safety-critical environment.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of oil and gas infrastructure projects, including drilling operations, production facilities, pipelines, and processing plants.
  • Define scope, objectives, and performance criteria, ensuring alignment with technical, environmental, safety, and commercial goals.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk registers.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, HSE, construction, and commissioning.
  • Manage interfaces between clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations (API, ASME, OSHA, EPA, etc.) and company standards.
  • Monitor project KPIs (cost, schedule, quality, safety), identify deviations, and implement corrective actions.
  • Oversee contract management, procurement planning, and vendor evaluations.
  • Lead technical reviews (HAZOPs, HAZIDs, design reviews) and ensure readiness for stage-gates and audits.
  • Support development of FEED studies, detailed engineering packages, and commissioning strategies.

Competencies:

  • Proven experience managing large capital projects (CAPEX), brownfield modifications, or greenfield developments.
  • Strong knowledge of oil and gas standards, such as API, ISO, ASME, and NEC.
  • Skilled in project software such as MS Project, Primavera P6, and familiar with engineering design tools (AutoCAD, SmartPlant, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead HSE-critical projects and promote a culture of safety excellence.
  • Familiarity with drilling programs, wellsite construction, or offshore/subsea operations. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge of pipeline integrity, process safety, and environmental compliance. (Preferred)
  • Experience working in remote locations or under challenging field conditions. (Preferred)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and contract negotiation skills. (Preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills for cost control and project forecasting. (Preferred)

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 1-5 years of project management experience in the oil and gas industry (upstream, midstream, or downstream).
  • PMP certification strongly preferred; knowledge of stage-gate project delivery models.

Working Conditions:

  • Field-based, office, and remote site environments; regular travel may be required.
  • Exposure to hazardous materials and operations; adherence to strict safety protocols is essential.
  • May require rotational work schedules or extended hours depending on project phase.
