Electrical Maintenance Technician – Draglines & Electric Shovels

Schedule: DuPont Schedule – 12-hour rotating days/nights (6:30 AM–6:30 PM), 7 days on / 7 days off
Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary with possibility of converting to permanent position after 6 months.

Turner Staffing Group is seeking Electrical Maintenance Technicians to support operations on draglines and electric shovels at the North Antelope Rochelle Mine near Wright, Wyoming. This role is ideal for professionals with strong DC motor/generator troubleshooting skills who thrive in heavy-industrial or mining environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance on draglines, electric shovels, and other fixed/mobile plant equipment in an open-cut mining environment.

• Visibly support and champion our client’s mission, values, and “Safety as a Way of Life” culture.

• Inspect work areas and equipment for hazards, damage, and defects.

• Review drawings or specifications to determine work methods and sequences.

• Diagnose faults, breakdowns, and electrical issues.

• Estimate time and materials needed, raise material orders, and complete repairs or component changeouts as required.

• Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas.

• Train or mentor apprentices or other personnel as needed.

• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory requirements.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

About You

• At least 3 years of electrical maintenance experience in a heavy-industrial setting (mining preferred, but steel/paper mills are also valuable backgrounds).

• Strong DC motor/generator troubleshooting and repair experience is required.

• 480-600V experience

• PLC experience is highly preferred

• Willingness to obtain MSHA certification and a Wyoming Mining Electrical Card during onboarding (if not currently held).

• Ability to solve problems independently and troubleshoot issues in pit areas.

• Comfortable working in all weather conditions, at varying times of day, including rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime.

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (up to 4 hours).

• Comfortable climbing stairs, ladders, and equipment; working from elevated positions.

• Capable of frequent lifting/carrying (10–50 lbs) without mechanical assistance.

• Ability to perform repetitive motions, maintain rapid reflexes, and demonstrate good hand-eye coordination.

• Must wear required PPE (protective footwear, hearing/eye protection, etc.) and work in varying light, noise, and weather conditions.

Work Schedule & Lifestyle

• DuPont schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, 7 days on / 7 days off.

• May require work on weekends, holidays, or alternate shifts as business needs demand.

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (no work visa sponsorship available).

• Successful candidates must pass pre-employment screenings and meet all safety standards.
