Job Description

A K-12 educational institution in Metairie, LA is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support students and staff throughout the school year on a contract basis. This role plays a vital part in facilitating communication and ensuring accessibility for deaf or hard-of-hearing students within the classroom and during school activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear and accurate sign language interpreting services for classroom instruction, meetings, and extracurricular events.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to create an inclusive learning environment.
• Assist in the adaptation of instructional materials to meet the communication needs of students.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all interactions.
• Participate in ongoing training and remain current with interpreting best practices and educational policies.

Qualifications:
