Sign Language Interpreter Opportunity Elementary School Setting

Seeking experienced Sign Language Interpreters to provide 1:1 support to general education students in an elementary school environment. This contract position is based in Long Beach, MS, and is aligned with the 2025/2026 school year calendar.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver clear and effective sign language interpretation services for elementary students in grades 2, 4, and 5.
• Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to facilitate communication and enhance student engagement.
• Maintain confidentiality and support inclusive educational practices.
• Provide in-person interpretation for approximately 35 hours per week.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Professional certification required: either RID certification, EIPA score of 3.0 or higher, or a valid Mississippi QA license for sign language interpretation.
• Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an educational team.
• Strong communication skills and adaptability in a classroom setting.

• Long Beach, MS (in-person role) within Harrison County.
