Bay Ship & Yacht Co. , is a modern shipyard located on the waterfront of San Francisco Bay. We provide dry-docking and repair services to commercial and government vessels, including tugboats, ferries, Coast Guard cutters, cruise ships, pilot boats, yachts, and marine vessels of all kinds. The Engineering Department supports the shipyard in three ways:

• We provide technical assistance to the yard in the form of calculations, shop drawings, and work process descriptions.
• We assist with sales and marketing by doing ship checks/sales calls, preparing concept drawings, and in some cases, preparing estimates and quotations.
• We occasionally assist yard customers with concept and design/engineering for new build and major overhaul projects.

The job often requires us to work in the yard performing tasks such as taking field measurements, performing QC functions, or monitoring engineered evolutions. We also work closely with other BSY craft departments to develop work instructions and to tailor our drawings to match what is needed by each department.
Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Experience producing designs and detailed drawings.
• A strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction at all times.
