As the world’s largest online art marketplace (profitable and $1B+ art sold), Artsy’s mission is to expand the art market to support more artists and art in the world. We have become the go-to channel for the premium art gallery market, providing transparency and access in an industry traditionally known for opacity, exclusivity, and friction.
Now, we are doubling down on strengthening our core marketplace—ensuring a seamless, high-conversion experience for collectors and galleries alike. But we are also looking ahead—seeking the next transformative opportunity in online art commerce. We need a visionary product leader who can develop and execute bold ideas that drive Artsy’s next wave of growth.
We seek an entrepreneurial and strategic product leader with the ability to navigate the complexities of the art market and the operational discipline to execute at scale. This leader will not only drive near-term marketplace enhancements but also identify and champion the next major expansion opportunity for Artsy—whether through new business models, emerging technologies, or other high-impact innovations.
The Opportunity
Define and execute Artsy’s product vision. Set a bold, forward-thinking product strategy that enhances art discovery, streamlines transactions, and creates new opportunities for collectors and galleries.
Own product strategy, roadmap, and execution holistically. Optimize our core marketplace while incubating new product areas that expand Artsy’s impact and revenue potential.
Oversee a team of ~10 PMs and Designers, fostering a culture of ownership, innovation, and velocity.
Collaborate with cross functional teams (ie Engineering, Data, Marketing) to drive execution and innovation.
Shape the future of online art commerce. Build experiences that redefine how collectors buy and sell art, addressing key market inefficiencies and unlocking new opportunities.
Leverage data and technology to drive personalization and art discovery.
Develop solutions that make art collecting more intuitive and accessible for new and experienced buyers.
The Ideal Person
Visionary thinker. Has a track record of identifying and executing game-changing opportunities, leveraging market trends, emerging technologies, and consumer behavior insights to drive new revenue streams.
Entrepreneurial executor. Has successfully scaled new products from 0-to-1, whether at a startup or a larger company.
Highly strategic. Can understand and master the idiosyncrasies of the art market; experience with high price point and/or luxury secondary marketplaces is a bonus.
Proven marketplace operator. 10-15+ years building and leading impactful products at multi-sided marketplaces, networks, or platforms.
Experienced leader. Has built and scaled high-performing product teams
This role must be based in NYC or London (~3 days per week in office). Candidates with diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
