The Chief Information Officer (CIO) at The Company is a strategic and operational leader responsible for the Information Technology (IT) department. The role involves collaborating with campus communities to develop and implement IT strategies that align with the institution's mission and goals. The CIO oversees strategic planning, policy development, operational management of IT solutions, staff leadership and development, project management, and user support systems. This position requires a high degree of innovation and conceptualization to advance the institution's technology services and integration with business strategy. The CIO also serves as an advisor to the President and Executives, working with thought leaders to bring leading practices to the organization.
Candidates for the CIO position must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems/technology, or a related field, with a preference for a Master's degree. They should have at least ten years of experience in managing higher education enterprise systems and extensive knowledge of various technologies, including Windows Servers, database software, and networking. Knowledge of regulatory issues related to security and experience with FERPA, HIPAA, PCI, HEOA, and copyright laws is essential. The ideal candidate will be a proven IT leader with professional and personal integrity, flexibility, creativity, and a track record of building successful teams. Strong problem-solving abilities, business acumen, and excellent communication skills are also required.
