Job Description

Gage Hospitality Group is currently seeking a fun and passionate Bartender to join our team at The Gage   located on Michigan Avenue, steps from Millennium Park. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the restaurant's high productivity, quality, and customer service standards are maintained.

Bartender Responsibilities:
  • Report directly to the Floor Manager
  • Attend pre-shift to review menu and daily specials
  • Provide a pleasant drinking experience to customers
  • Serve drinks while maintaining a clean and sanitary work station
  • Prepares and maintains beverage ingredients by following recipes
  • Ring all food and beverage items with 100% accuracy to ensure proper flow of service 
  • Properly handle all guest payments with 100% accuracy 
  • Correctly audit and balance cash/credit card receipts as part of daily checkout procedures 
  • Responsible for completing all opening and closing procedures in a timely manner
  • Adheres to proper alcohol handling, sanitation and safety procedures and maintains appropriate dating, labeling and rotation of all beverage items 
  • Communicate cordially, effectively and clearly with all employees, managers and guests

Required Education, Experience and Documentation:
  • ServSafe Food Handlers Certificate, BASSET Certificate
  • At least 2 year of experience in a fast-pace, busy, high volume restaurant 
  • Ability to fluently speak, write and read in the English language
