Accountant - Nonprofit Finance and Grants Management - Newark, NJ Seeking a general accounting and finance professional with public or private grant management experience to join a well-funded nonprofit nonpartisan “action tank”, committed to the goal that all children are prepared for successful college, work, and adult life. *** Maintain the General Ledger. --- General Ledger --- Accounts Payable --- Accounts Receivable --- Payroll --- Grants related Accounting & Reporting *** Compile and submit monthly grant claims, categorized by individual cost centers, and manage the collections process. *** Reconcile grant financial activities. *** Prepare financial statements as required by funding sources and internal program management. *** Ensure accurate classification of accounts and cost centers. *** Perform regular reconciliations of accounts. *** Generate and analyze comprehensive financial reports. *** Monitor expenditure variances over budget and advise program directors accordingly. *** Review and process purchase requisitions.
